Should I get one?
Today Mags came out and told me she wants a video game (perhaps a PS3 like her grandmother’s neighbors own, hmmm?) and I was shocked. We don’t have a video game and never have had one. But she’s had the opportunity to play on one. I put her on Nickjr.com and, sure enough, she knew just what to do with those games. Her poppy, she said, was helping her learn.
Now we’ve got to consider buying a game system. If we do, though, it will only be educational games. I really don’t want her to get addicted nor do I want to fight about game time every single night. I just don’t know if I can rationalize, with an honest heart, never getting one. I think at this stage of our country, it’s almost necessary to have some kinds of accessible electronics for kids. Otherwise they could get behind the other children.
I’ll have to draw the line at her request for her own cell phone, though.
