Getting Ready

My mother-in-law just installed two new Delta faucets in her kitchen and downstairs bath. The one in the kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. She’s got some money, so she gets the really nice stuff. I’m amazed at how much improvement such a little change did in both of those rooms. I’m actually thinking about doing that in my own kitchen (after Christmas is over, of course) when I get some money. A new faucet is really not that expensive, but adds a lot of pizazz.

My Christmas decorating is finally done and now I get to start on cookies! I don’t know if it’s the same in the rest of the country, but around here we give cookies out as gifts– usually to people we don’t owe some expensive thing as a gift. I like getting cookies too. Most people have the basic sugar cutout cookie and then throw in something that’s unique to their “collection”. Mine is cherry walnut bars. They’re my personal favorite cookie and I like to make them. My best friend’s is peanut butter blossoms. My mother’s is wedding cookies (which I love). I’m excited about making them this year and I’m pretty sure it’s completely because I don’t have a lot of money for gifts, so most people are getting the treats. Plus Mags is finally old enough to really enjoy the whole process. This is going to be a lot of fun this year.
